Russell the former capital of New Zealand

Took a fun ferry ride to Russell with a salty old sailor who brought Gayle into his bridge and let her drive the boat until we nearly broadsided a yacht. The only real danger we were in by our barefoot captain was listening to his stories about musket balls and missionaries. He told Gayle about his favorite place to eat. It is called the RSA (Returned Service Association). We had to sign up and I had a nice toastie (grilled cheese sandwich) for the discount price of $8. Gayle had a Macorni and Cheese, Pat a nice Hamburger, and Marty a fishy fish and chips, and good $5 cold drafts. We  walked a bit around the former Capital of NZ by a shot called the Hell Hole, hiked to Flagstaff hill for expansive views and walked back through trails with succulents and ferns side by side. We also had some rare cock birds chasing each other our feet. Dinner was local champagne, cheese and bread plate, organic salad, and a yogurt parfait with banana and strawberry jam. Note to self, always bring a Cajun with you they know how to cook and partiEE!
