Gardens and wine tasting

Had a lovely day walking around a garden that is over 100 years old. It's called the Eastwoodhill National Arboretum in Gisborne. It was fun sharing stories, laughing, and shooting photos of such beauty. Here is just a few! Pictured is Phill and his wife Pip.

Afterwards we went wine tasting at a wine location that samples all of the local vineyards. We had mixed reviews but 3 of us found some keepers. That evening we enjoyed a birthday party for Caro's father Phil. What a lively gathering mixed with a hearty dose of good food and wine. Three cheers to everyone involved.  Interesting note, at our picnic in the gardens, Pip brought out a fruitcake soaked in whiskey. It was really quite good and I am not a FC lover.  I have been accused of being one.  They told us it is traditional to have a fruitcake as your wedding cake.

Weather looks lovely this early AM but some showers and wind is coming I am told.

Phillip and Pip our most gracious hosts!
